What are the stipulations in "Regulations of the Shanghai Municipality on Water Supply" on the water supply construction projects?

    Answer: To ensure the quality of water supplies and to ensure the water supply for life, production and constructions, according to the requirements of the "Regulations of the Shanghai Municipality on Water Supply", the new construction, rebuilding and expansion of water supply projects should be carried out according to the citys water supply development plan and its annual construction plan, and implemented after being examined and approved by the Water Affairs Bureau or district (county) construction and administrative departments and other relevant authorities. The design and construction of water supply projects should abide by the relevant state and city technical standards and specifications. The construction unit should entrust the design and construction of water supply projects to units with corresponding qualifications and certificates. Units without relevant qualifications and certificates or with inadequate business scope are not allowed to undertake such projects. Having finished the projects, the inspection department should notify the City Water Supply Management Office or the district (county) administrative departments to carry out inspections. Projects uninspected or proved to be disqualified shall not be put into use.
